On Tuesday, March 20, beginning at 11:30 a.m. PT, Chapter One of the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) will be holding a joint luncheon with the Southern California Chapter of the Appraisal Institute at Luminarias Restaurant in Monterey Park, CA. Nossaman’s  Litigation Department Chair and Co-Chair of its Real Estate Practice Group, David Graeler, will serve as the luncheon speaker, providing a presentation entitled “Scenarios to Consider Appraising without USPAP.” To register, please visit the IRWA Ch. 1 website here.

The International Right of Way Association is a professional member organization comprised of global infrastructure real estate practitioners.  Since its inception as a not-for-profit association in 1934, IRWA has served professionals who acquire, manage and transfer the land rights needed for building and maintaining energy and transportation infrastructure.  Covering Los Angeles, Chapter One is the founding Chapter of the IRWA.  The members of Chapter One come from all walks of life such as Transportation Authorities and Departments, Water and School Districts, Public Works and Redevelopment Agencies, Utilities companies, Railroads, and private consultants such as appraisers, title specialists, acquisition agents, attorneys, relocation assistance agents, and right of way and civil engineers.  The Chapter regularly offers a wide range of education and professional development opportunities reflecting the diverse needs of stakeholders in the right of way profession.

The Appraisal Institute is a global professional association of real estate appraisers, with more than 18,000 professionals in nearly 50 countries throughout the world. Its mission is to advance professionalism and ethics, global standards, methodologies, and practices through the professional development of property economics worldwide.  Organized in 1932, the Appraisal Institute advocates equal opportunity and nondiscrimination in the appraisal profession and conducts its activities in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws. The Southern California Chapter of the Appraisal Institute has been home to some of the appraisal profession’s leading practitioners, educators and authors since its founding in 1933. The chapter comprises more than 1,200 real estate professionals who reside or practice within the chapter’s boundaries, which include Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.
