Mount Saint Mary College Reports Data Breach Affecting 17,924 Students and Employees

On February 7, 2023, Mount Saint Mary College (“MSMC”) filed notice of a data breach with the Montana Attorney General after discovering that an unauthorized party accessed and potentially stole student and employee information that was stored on the school’s computer system. Based on the company’s official filing, the incident resulted in an unauthorized party gaining access to individuals’ names, Social Security numbers, passport numbers, email addresses and username/password combinations. After confirming that consumer data was leaked, MSMC began sending out data breach notification letters to all individuals who were impacted by the recent data security incident.
