The New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) has published another set of amended hemp regulations, announcing the amendments at its December 16, 2021 board meeting. The proposed amended regulations would be codified in Chapter II of Subtitle B NYCRR Part 114, titled “Cannabinoid Hemp.”
The amendments are a direct result of commentary from industry leaders. Among other technical edits, OCM added a definition for “craft” cannabinoid hemp products – meaning any product manufactured from hemp grown by a licensed hemp grower who grows less than 1,000 pounds of dried hemp annually and the hemp is hand trimmed, hang dried and, if a cannabinoid hemp flower, hand packaged.
Also proposed is a new Cannabinoid Hemp Farm Processor license and edited font requirements for packaging and labels. The full set of regulations are outlined in our previous legal alert from November 2021.
The public now has sixty-days to submit commentary on the amended regulations.
