As required under the Permit Extension Act of 2020 (PEA) signed into law on July 1, 2020 by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has published a Notice in the New Jersey Register outlining the permits and approvals to be extended under the PEA.

The PEA automatically tolls certain governmental permits, approvals and deadlines for the duration of the "COVID-19 Extension Period," but requires the holders of such permits or approvals to register with the issuing state agency. The above Notice provides a link to the NJDEP’s website with additional information and a form for the registration of eligible permits and approvals.

Registration must be completed by Thursday, October 8, 2020 (30 days following the September 8, 2020 publication of the Notice) to ensure eligibility.
