  • Alaska AG Stephen Cox issued enforcement warning letters to more than 1,500 tobacco retailers and distributors for allegedly selling unauthorized electronic smoking devices and nicotine pouches in violation of federal and state law.
  • According to the press release, the letters warn that many of these products, often originating from China, lack required FDA marketing authorization and therefore cannot lawfully be marketed or sold in the U.S.
  • The AG’s office emphasized that these unauthorized products frequently feature flavors and marketing designed to appeal to children, and it urged retailers to immediately remove them from shelves to ensure public safety.
