On Saturday, August 25, the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) began processing applications for patient and commercial licenses. As of 8am today, OMMA reported having received 1363 patient, 9 caregiver, 288 dispensary, 389 grower, and 118 processor applications. Evidently, OMMA survived the initial onslaught of online-only applications, with the only hiccup relating to Complia-generated registration emails for users with Yahoo and AOL email addresses.

Last week, OMMA began accepting inquiries regarding the regulations and application process by email at omma@ok.gov or by telephone at 405.522.6662. While the wait times for telephone responses has been long at times, OMMA has been very responsive to questions by telephone and online.

On Saturday, the agency approved 23 patient licenses as a test. OMMA has 14 days to process complete applications, and early applicants can expect to receive their licenses in the mail by the week of September 10. There is no deadline to submit applications. For updated information about processing as well as the full text of the statute and current regulations, including helpful checklists and links, go to the website at omma.ok.gov. You can also follow OMMA on Twitter at @OMMAOK.
