On April 4, 2020, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf implemented a portal designed to assist manufacturers in the supply chain for COVID-19 related supplies.

The Manufacturing Call to Action Portal allows a manufacturer that is either currently engaged in the supply chain or wants to be engaged in the supply chain to contact the Department of Community and Economic Development immediately.

The portal is designed to help facilitate business connections for the expansion of supply chain capacity, promote manufacturing innovation and help identify any issues in the process.

The department is able to match manufacturers, distributors and other suppliers that complete the information requested by the user-friendly portal, to fill specific supply chain needs to meet increasing demand for medical supplies and related products. The portal will also help manufacturers with workforce needs or gaps to identify skilled workers. Finally, the portal should allow the identification of manufacturers that can pivot or innovate to fulfill the demand for medical supplies and related products.
