The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board recently announced that bids are now being accepted for their 6th Auction of Expired Restaurant Liquor Licenses.  This auction presents an opportunity for anyone seeking to acquire a license in one of the many counties where these licenses are currently located.  Any interested parties need to submit a sealed bid to the PLCB on or before August 2, 2018.  The minimum bid for any one licenses is $25,000.00, which is a bargain for a retail license in most Pennsylvania counties, with recent sales exceeding $500,000.00 in rare cases.  In prior auctions, some licenses failed to get even a single bid – which suggests that competition for these licenses may be slowing and could make a license available to a bidder for merely the minimum bid amount.

The licenses that will be up for auction are located in the following counties:

ARMSTRONG, BRADFORD, BUCKS, CAMERON, CARBON, CLINTON, CRAWFORD, DAUPHIN, ELK, GREENE, HUNTINGDON, LEBANON, MCKEAN, MERCER, MONTGOMERY, NORTHAMPTON, NORTHUMBERLAND, PHILADELPHIA, PIKE, POTTER, SCHUYLKILL, SUSQUEHANNA, and WASHINGTON
