President Trump nominates Acting Chair Hill to full term as FDIC Chair

On September 30, the U.S. Senate received and referred to the Senate Banking Committee President Trump’s nomination of FDIC Acting Chair Travis Hill to a five-year term as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the FDIC. Senate Banking Committee Chair Tim Scott issued a statement congratulating Hill on his nomination. Chair Scott praised Hill, noting his efforts to remove reputation risk from bank supervision and to implement policies aimed at ending debanking. The nomination is pending consideration by the Senate Banking Committee.
