During his press conference on October 26, 2020, Quebec Premier François Legault announced that the additional health measures, which came into effect on October 1, 2020 and were expected to end on October 28, 2020, will be extended until November 23, 2020.

For more information on these measures, please see our October 2020 Blakes Bulletin: Red Zones: Quebec’s New COVID-19 Measures Applicable as of October 1, 2020.

The Quebec Premier also reiterated that the Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST) will continue its workplace inspection blitz to ensure employers’ compliance with health measures and CNESST occupational health and safety guidelines related to COVID-19. Employers whose employees continue to work from the workplace can therefore expect a potential inspection by the CNESST over the coming weeks. The Quebec Premier reminded that in any case of non-compliance, the CNESST has the authority to close businesses for the time needed to implement the required measures.

To ensure that your operations can continue during the extension of health measures, please review the COVID-19 Toolkit published by the CNESST.
