On June 1, 2020, the president of the Mexico City Superior Court of Justice announced that the civil courts and appeal courts in Mexico City will gradually resume their work as of June 16, 2020.
As part of its reopening, the Superior Court of Justice seeks the digitization and electronic transformation of its business. To this end, it will take the following measures:
a. Enable the electronic filing of lawsuits and court promotions.
b. Creation of the electronic file that will facilitate the electronic
consultation of judicial proceedings and resolutions.
c. Implementation of the use of electronic signatures in motions
and judicial resolutions.
d. Enabling notifications by e-mail and instant messaging.
On the other hand, the president of the Superior Court announced the launch of a protocol of gradual attention to the public, which will be in force from June 16, 2020. Courts will open to the public in a phased manner. On certain days of the week, some courts (evens) will work exclusively, and the following day the remaining courts (odds) will open. On the other hand, face-to-face hearings in civil/commercial matters will remain suspended until further notice.
The measures communicated at a press conference must be established in an official resolution of the Superior Court of Justice of Mexico City, detailing their scope and form of implementation.
