The Legislative Services Agency (LSA) delivered its second redistricting plan, including the second set of maps, to the legislature at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 21. A short time later the maps were released for the public to view.

Proposed Maps
Here is the link to the maps and here are the links to the plan and the bill in its entirety: Second Proposed Redistricting Plan; Second Proposed Redistricting Bill. There is also an interactive tool to navigate the redistricting maps.

Special Legislative Session
The legislature will convene on Thursday, October 28, 2021, in a special legislative session to vote on the second redistricting plan.

Background
Earlier this month, the Iowa Senate rejected the first redistricting plan. The first and second plans can only be accepted or rejected without the chance for amendment. If the second plan is rejected, the LSA will have 35 days to draw the third set of maps, which are subject to the amendment process as any other bill would be.

We will continue to deliver timely information as analysis on the first redistricting plan develops.
