Austria has approved the signing of Double Tax Treaty with Oman

On 24 September 2025, Austria has authorized the signing of the Double Tax Treaty (DTT) with Oman. The countries reached consensus on the draft DTT in March 2024, and news reports indicate the DTT will be in line with the OECD Model Tax Convention. We will report on further developments as they occur.

Kuwait wishes to conclude a Double Tax Treaty with Panama

A press release of 22 September 2025 states that Kuwait has expressed an interest in concluding a DTT with Panama. Further developments will be reported as they occur.

Greece ratified the continued application of the Double Tax Treaty the UAE

On 5 September 2025, Greece has ratified the continued application of the DTT with the UAE, after the Greek tax authorities issued an update in February 2025 stating that the DTT was terminated. Once the exchange of notes between the two countries is final, the DTT (2010), as amended per protocol (2013), shall apply retroactively from the termination date. Qatar and Tanzania have initialed a Double Tax Treaty

On 27 August 2025, Qatar and Tanzania have initialed a DTT between the two jurisdictions. Further developments will be reported as they occur.

Bahrain signs Double Tax Treaty with Jersey

On 15 September 2025, Bahrain and Jersey have signed a DTT, in Bahrain. We will report on further developments as they occur.

Oman ratified Double Tax Treaty with Kazakhstan

On 4 September 2025, Oman has ratified the DTT with Kazakhstan, which was signed on 29 May of the same year. Further developments will be reported as they occur.

Double Tax Treaty between Qatar and Saudi Arabia enters into force

According to a memo issued by the Saudi Arabian authorities on 12 August 2025, the DTT between Qatar and Saudi Arabia entered into force on 1 January 2025, with application to withholding and other taxes from 2026. We will report on further developments as they occur.

Double Tax Treaty between Oman and Cyprus enters into force

According to a recent news report, the DTT between Oman and Cyprus entered in force on 5 March 2025, with application to withholding and other taxes from 2026. Further developments will be reported as they occur.

Guernsey approves Double Tax Treaty with Bahrain

On 3 September 2025, Guernsey has approved the DTT it concluded with Bahrain. We will report on further developments as they occur.

Double Tax Treaty between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia enters into force

According to a circular issued by the Saudi Arabian authorities on 3 August 2025, the DTT between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia entered into force on 1 August 2025, with application to withholding and other taxes from 2026. Further developments will be reported as they occur.
