The House and Senate convene today at noon and 3 p.m., respectively.

The White House is expected to submit an $11 billion rescissions package to Congress this week. The proposed spending cuts would target unused funds that were previously appropriated. However, the administration will not go after the funds approved in the $1.3 trillion omnibus for FY 2018, which was originally the plan.

Trade representatives from the United States, Canada, and Mexico are meeting today in Washington to continue their negotiations on NAFTA.

Here’s what else is in store for the week:

House

Votes. The chamber will take up a series of small business bills under suspension of the rules. See the full list here.

Congressional Review. Lawmakers will consider S.J. Res. 57, a measure to disapprove the CFPB’s auto lending rule.

Jobs Hearing. The House Ways and Means Committee will hold a subcommittee hearing Wednesday on “Jobs and Opportunity: Legislative Options to Address the Jobs Gap.”

Senate

Confirmation Vote. The Senate will consider the nomination of Kurt Engelhardt to be a judge for the 5th Circuit. A cloture vote is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. today.

Hearing on Predatory Practices. This Wednesday, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will hold a subcommittee hearing on “A Multilateral and Strategic Response of International Predatory Economic Practices.”
