U.S. Congress reauthorizes cybersecurity information-sharing framework in omnibus bill

On February 3, President Trump signed an omnibus bill into law that, in relevant part, reauthorized Section 111(a) of the “Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 (CISA) through September 30, after it expired on January 30. CISA provides, among other things, antitrust and liability protections, as well as a voluntary framework, for companies sharing cyberthreat indicators with the government.
