U.S. Senate confirms Stephen Miran to fill Fed vacancy for term ending January 2026

On September 15, the U.S. Senate confirmed Stephen Miran as a member of the Fed by a 48-47 vote. The Fed announced that Miran was sworn in by Judge Elizabeth Branch of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit on September 16. As previously covered by InfoBytes, President Trump announced Miran’s nomination on August 7 to fill the unexpired term ending January 31, 2026, left vacant following Governor Adriana Kugler’s resignation in August. Miran’s confirmation fills the seat for the remainder of the current 14-year term.
