The U.S. Space Force achieved a milestone for Space Domain Awareness (SDA) on September 30th by announcing that the Space Force has operationally accepted the Advanced Tracking and Launch Analysis System (ATLAS). ATLAS is a platform for cataloging data and providing event response capabilities for civil, commercial, and Department of Defense purposes. The press release quotes U.S. Space Force Lt. Col. Amber Johnson, 2nd Sustainment Squadron commander under Space Operations Command’s Mission Delta 2 – Space Domain Awareness:

ATLAS operational acceptance is a revolutionary leap forward for our warfighters, providing a decisive advantage in Space Domain Awareness[.] This achievement, driven by agile development, delivers a force multiplier that significantly enhances our ability to rapidly detect and respond to emerging threats, ensuring continued space superiority.

According to its press release, ATLAS will eventually replace the Space Defense Operation Center (SPADOC) system, which is over 30 years old. The U.S. Space Force’s press release is available here.
