January 27th, 2022
8:30 AM - 10:00 AM ET
Economic and population growth, together with accelerated electrification in all economic sectors, is expected to shift Canada’s electricity systems into a period of sustained demand growth through the 2020s and early 2030s. Estimates show that Canada will need at least double the clean power available today.
This webinar provides both an overview of the future role of electricity in Canada’s net-zero economy and an insight into the complex mix of technical, policy and legal solutions required to decarbonize Canada’s electricity system, including the following:
- increased zero-carbon supply
- integration between provinces to better align electricity systems with net-zero goals
- coordinated transmission buildouts to support new supply and technologies (such as distributed energy resources, storage and demand response)
