Although paid sick and safe leave is not new to Seattle, the city is once again changing its rules in response to Washington’s new state law. Seattle’s new rules are expected to be released in late May or early June. Employers subject to Seattle’s ordinance may have different obligations and rights than what is provided for under state law. Even employers who revised their policies in time for the deadlines under state law need to review their policies again to ensure compliance with Seattle’s amended ordinance.

Make sure that you are complying with these new requirements. Join Jackson Lewis for a complimentary one-hour webinar on June 28, 2018 to dive into the complexities of ensuring compliance with the Seattle ordinance, state law, and other municipal ordinances. Topics will include:

  • Managing sick and safe leave provisions when operating in various Washington cities with their own paid leave provisions;
  • Intersecting the new paid sick leave law with other related state and federal laws;
  • Analyzing common errors in new policies;
  • Calculating normal compensation rates under the new law;
  • Troubleshooting no-fault and occurrence-based absentee policies;
  • Analyzing the new complex enforcement and remedies regulations; and much more.

*Our webinars are accredited in California, Illinois, New York, Missouri and Texas. We are also accredited providers of HRCI and SHRM.
