Getting divorced is like unmooring a boat from the slip before starting your motor. Your marriage may not have been the best place for you, but it was a familiar place to dock and provided consistency, if not stability. It was the place you operated from and regularly returned to. All that changes when you are going through a divorce. You are now unmoored and if your power source hasn’t kicked in yet, you may sometimes feel disconnected and crazy.
Give yourself a break. This happens to everyone – divorce makes you crazy no matter how competent, confident, capable, or utterly happy you may be to be moving on from that precarious perch.
