FDIC Amends Rules to Reflect New Insurance Coverage

On August 10, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Board of Directors adopted a final rule amending its insurance regulations (12 C.F.R. Part 330) and advertising regulations (12 C.F.R. Part 328) to conform with provisions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which permanently increased the standard maximum deposit insurance amount (SMDIA) from $100,000 to $250,000.
