The “Global Green Cities” conference is being held in San Francisco this week, February 23 – 25. This international symposium is a high-level exchange among world-leading elected officials, planners, researchers, technologists and business leaders on the theme of sustainable urban development and the evolution of green cities. Its objective is to advance the state of the art in green urban design, based on the vision and shared experience of a selection of the world’s most innovative cities. Focal points will include urban design, the applications of technology, and behavior. Its location in San Francisco will highlight technology and policy advances coming from California. The event will span three days, beginning with a welcome dinner, followed by a full day plenary session and concluding with a final day of optional off-site meetings and visits. Global collaboration will be achieved through both on-site participation and the use of Cisco TelePresence, a high-definition video and audio meeting solution that enables an ‘in-person’ collaborative virtual presence.
