Practice/Organization Description

I am a shareholder (partner) with the AV-rated* firm of Raven, Clancy & McDonagh, P.C. in Tucson, Arizona. I advise and represent clients in business, real estate and finanacing transactions in Arizona and California and international transactions, especially Mexico (with associated Mexican counsel). My commercial and residential real estate practice includes sales and acquisitions (including 1031 exchanges), leases, development, financing, zoning and land use. My corporate practice includes forming and representing business and non-profit entities (LLCs, corporations, partnerships). I review, prepare and negotiate contracts for businesses and individuals.

Prior to moving to Tucson in 1996, I worked at law firms in Los Angeles, California and Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. I received my undergraduate degree in 1989 from Duke University, where I majored in economics and political science; and my J.D. in 1994 from The University of Southern California Law Center, where I was Associate Editor of the Southern California Law Review. In 2004, I obtained a Master of Laws degree in International Trade Law from The University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. My thesis addressed mortgage loans by U.S. lenders secured by Mexican real property and the securitization of such mortgages.

I have been admitted to the State Bar of Arizona since 1996 and the State Bar of California since 1994. I am also a member of the Financial, Business and Legal Services Committee of the Arizona-Mexico Commission.
