Practice/Organization Description

Joshua P. Kubicki is a legal process expert/engineer, an attorney licensed in the District of Columbia, and is regular speaker and writer. He has over ten years experience within the legal services arena. He is focused on transforming legal services to better perform within today’s business climate by regulating costs and improving productivity.

Joshua has worked with Global 100 corporations and Global law firms in preparing and responding to various high stakes legal events, such as Department of Justice investigations, Congressional investigations, complex multi-billion dollar litigation, and various other legal matters. His expertise is legal project management, legal services unbundling/supply chain management, and the overall integration of business and technological practices with practice and process of law. He regularly applies his process and technology skills to design and execute new work-flow practices and departmental/project management.

Joshua began his legal career as a member of the Antitrust Division of the General Counsel’s office of Verizon, where he developed and implemented new discovery practices and procedures for the corporation applying project management methodologies and lean ROI analysis. He was charged with directing data/document collection and retrieval, working to develop records retention plans that met discovery obligations, implementing and managing litigation holds, and all other discovery related mechanisms. Subsequent to his experience at Verizon, Joshua worked as both an independent consultant and attorney for law firms and corporations focusing on decoupling the processes from the practice of law – achieving significant cost reductions and increasing productivity of both in-house and outside counsel.

Joshua is an active contributor and editor to the Sedona Conference where he has recently co-founded a new initiative examining the role of fully integrated information management and its potential ROI on an enterprise wide scale. He is also contributes to the Sedona Working Group on International Electronic Information Management.

Joshua is an Expert Contributor to the Legal Transformation Study. The first publication of the study was released in early 2008. Its aim was to present the findings of a group of industry insiders consisting of practitioners, experts, and academics who were tasked with examining the potential future scenarios for the legal profession in the year 2020. This is an on-going study as it continues to track and examine the industry and market trends that are impacting the legal profession.

He received his BA with honors from Niagara University and his J.D from Catholic University, Columbus School of Law.
