V. Iyer, Your Defender, Criminal Defense Lawyer

I practice Criminal, DUI, and Juvenile Defense Law solely because I am passionate in helping people successfully navigate the complex criminal justice system. I know and have experienced being charged with crimes; and know the fears, anxiety and concern passing through the body of what could possibly happen to my life, freedom, and future. I understand and empathize with those who come to my criminal defense law firm seeking my help and expertise to resolve their case. I will always work very hard and smart to find sensible and workable solutions to their problems. I care for each and every client and the results they get. I know what it feels like to be falsely accused; to face the juggernaut of the criminal justice system and the government with all of its resources against the little guy. Even the richest and the mightiest of persons is little when compared to the awesome powers and resources of the government. I am a well trained, experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated Denver Criminal Defense Lawyer helping people accused of crimes get a just and fair resolution to the charges -either by winning at trial or getting a great plea bargain. I look back on how I got to be a battle tested and successful Denver Criminal Lawyer. Here is my journey in fulfilling my father's and my dream of being a lawyer, and in time a great human being, working to help the little people fight the powers to be (corporate and government) ... As a very young person I had a deep sense of right and wrong. I always felt the pain and anguish of the weakest and most vulnerable members of society. As a kid my dad would take me to the Courts in India. I never really understood why Dad was always fighting with people - he was always in court. (later on in life I realized that Dad was the little guy always getting the short end of the stick by the big shots). I realized that I must be the very best lawyer and serve the best interests of my clients by getting them the results they want in a cost effective and timely manner. At the age of about 16 years, my father died and I had to fend for myself with some help from my mother and siblings. I knew that I had to get an education to do something with my life. I completed my Masters from a University in India. I worked in India and Dubai (U.A.E.) for years gaining insights into people and their conduct. I also gained financial skills during these years as an accountant and auditor. In 1988, I moved to Denver and worked for a very reputed jazz Club gaining valuable business experience. In 1991, I moved to L.A. (for family reasons) and worked for a large Cellular Telephone Company. I saw how large corporations legally dominated and subjugated the helpless-through artful drafting of one-sided legal documents. I knew this was unfair and decided to go out on my own. In 1994, I established my tax practice. On being a licensed in Colorado and Wyoming, I worked as a Deputy District Attorney in Colorado prosecuting all types of criminal cases for years. The experience and training I received as a Prosecutor enables me to fully understand how a prosecutor's mind works and talk the same language as the police and prosecutor which greatly benefits the criminal defense clients. In 2005, I established Iyer Law Office, LLC, with a fistful of dollars and struggled the first years but gained tremendous experience and insights into defending the accused. I gained the trust and respect of my clients, the prosecutors, the judges, and my peers. In a short period a time, I gained the trust of the community and now have a successful criminal defense law practice.
