  • Massachusetts AG Andrea Campbell settled with Dave & Buster’s of Massachusetts, Inc. to resolve allegations that the company violated the Commonwealth’s labor laws relating to meal breaks and child labor.
  • According to AG Campbell, Dave & Buster’s allegedly failed to provide meal breaks of adequate lengths to employees who worked shifts lasting longer than six hours, failed to obtain work permits for minors before they began employment, and employed minors for later hours than permitted.
  • Under the terms of the settlement, Dave & Buster’s will pay $275,000, which includes penalties as well as compensation for more than 800 employees.
  • We have previously reported on former Massachusetts AG Maura Healey’s settlements with restaurant chains over similar child labor law violations.
