All Lines of Insurance

Kansas: On June 8, Governor Kelly approved House Bill 2016a, extending the state of emergency to September 15. Additionally, the Bill enacts the COVID-19 Response and Reopening for Business Protection Act. The Act, among other things, provides civil liability immunity to healthcare providers, businesses, adult day care facilities, and designers, manufacturers, and sellers of products.

Health Insurance

Wisconsin: On June 10, Commissioner Afable issued a notice to all insurers authorized to write health insurance, providing a brief summary of the key provisions in the revised federal regulations and to encourage non-federal governmental group health plans and insurers to exercise flexibility in applying similar Wisconsin provisions relating to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). These regulations extended certain time frames related to portability and the continuation of coverage for group health plans, disability, and other welfare plans during the COVID-19 federally declared national emergency.
