Today’s federal government actions in response to COVID-19 include:

Congress
Today, Senate Majority Leader McConnell issued a statement highlighting guidance from the Office of the Attending Physician ahead of the Senate’s Monday return to Washington

  • As we noted yesterday, while the Senate will not vote on COVID-related legislation next week, several committees will hold hearings of relevance

Also today, Leader McConnell and House Republican Leader McCarthy issued a joint statement reiterating their commitment to providing strong liability protections to “healthcare workers, small businesses, and other Americans on the front lines”
House Speaker Pelosi said yesterday she expects the House to return the week of May 11

  • While not in session, House leaders will continue work on their pending CARES 2.0 relief package
