In its April 3, 2018 Federal Register Notice, the Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) announced its May 31, 2019 public hearing for the scientific data and information about products containing cannabis and cannabis derived products and the docket for public comment on the hearing. On Thursday, June 20, 2019, the FDA announced in its Federal Register Notice that the deadline for submitting comments on July 2, 2019 will be extended to July 16, 2019.

Industry individuals, professionals, regulators and/or entrepreneurs wishing to comment on the health, safety, manufacturing, quality, marketing, labeling, and/or sale of these products may submit comment until July 16. Electronic submissions may be submitted to the electronic filing system (Regulations.gov) on or before 11:59 PM EST on July 16. Written comments will be accepted if they are postmarked or delivered on or before July 16.
