On June 17, 2020, the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) announced an extension of its eviction and foreclosure moratorium due to the COVID-19 pandemic until August 31, 2020. This is an extension of FHFA’s May 14 and March 18 directives suspending evictions and foreclosures through June 30. The moratorium applies only to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac single-family loans.

The GSEs have not yet issued guidance related to this new extension. We will continue to monitor for new Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHFA guidance concerning this moratorium extension.
