The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced that a former contractor of a defense contractor has been indicted for stealing over 75 percent of hacking tools belonging to the Nations Security Agency’s offensive cyber unit, as well as the ICA and Cyber Command.

According to the indictment, Harold T. Martin has been charged with the willful retention of national defense information for as long as 20 years. He is alleged to have stolen documents that contain highly classified information between 1993 and 2016, which included thousands of pages of documents and 50 terabytes of digital data. Many of the documents were tagged as “TOP SECRET.”

Martin is charged with 20 counts, each of which holds a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, so he faces a sentence of anywhere from 30 years to life in prison.
