The Connecticut General Assembly recently passed a bill (File No. 678) that would allow 10 municipalities to postpone their upcoming revaluations by a year.  Four municipalities (Danbury, Orange, Wilton and Stamford) are allowed to postpone their October 1, 2022 revaluations to October 1, 2023.  Six municipalities (Barkhamsted, Norfolk, Norwalk, Suffield, Willington and Windsor Locks) are permitted to postpone their October 1, 2023 revaluations until October 1, 2024.  The legislative body of each city or town is charged with deciding whether or not to take advantage of the deferral opportunity presented by the bill, which is now headed to Governor Lamont for his signature.  Without legislative authority to postpone, revaluations in Connecticut are required to be conducted every five years.
