The federal government has responded to recent data breaches by making cybersecurity a top priority, and it continues to consider and implement a number of regulations that affect government contractors.

Over the past year and a half, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) suffered two massive data breaches that collectively exposed the records of approximately 22.1 million people both inside and outside the federal government, including information pertaining to both current and former federal employees as well as their families.
