Today, ICE announced an extension of the temporary COVID-19 flexibilities for completion of the Form I-9, initially announced in March 2020 and extended multiple times throughout the pandemic.  Due to ongoing safety precautions related to COVID-19,  employers may continue to utilize these temporary flexibilities for Form I-9 purposes through July 31, 2023.  This means eligible employers will be able to continue to review I-9 identity and employment authorization documents without conducting a physical inspection until this temporary policy expires or until three days after the COVID-19 national emergency is over, whichever is first.
