The location of the local division in Milan has been formally selected by the Italian authorities.  The UPC Preparatory Committee confirmed in a recent press release that the division will be hosted in the premises of the new Milan Courthouse, at via San Barnaba n. 50.  The UPC division will be on the second floor of the building and the necessary renovation and refurbishment is due to be completed by mid-June 2017.

This is yet another step completed in Italy's UPC preparations in the last few months.  Draft legislation (in the form of Bill 2524) to enable Italy to ratify the UPC Agreement was voted and approved by the Senate of the Republic of Italy on 18 October and will likely come into force in November.

So far eleven countries have ratified the UPC Agreement: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, France, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, Sweden, and most recently, The Netherlands.
