After leaving the position vacant for almost two years, Minnesota Department of Commerce Commissioner Michael J. Rothman announced that Nancy Leppink will start tomorrow with the Minnesota Commerce Department as the Assistant Commissioner of Enforcement. Most recently, Ms. Leppink was with the U.S. Department of Labor where she was the Deputy Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division. Prior to that, she was the Chief Legal Counsel for the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DOLI), and before that, an Assistant Attorney General in the Minnesota Attorney General's Office.
Ms. Leppink will oversee the Department's Enforcement Division, and Marty Fleischhacker, Paul Hanson, Bob Hernz, and Bob Moilanen will report directly to her.
Consistent with his other recent hires and promotions, this is a good move by Commissioner Rothman. Ms. Leppink is very familiar with the investigative and enforcement process from her time at the AG and DOLI, and will be up to full speed within a matter of days.
