The Minnesota House has set January 13, 2014 as the deadline for the pre-filing of bill introductions for the 2014 Legislative Session. All pre-filed bills will be posted publicly and will be available for interim committee hearings.

House Rule 1.14 allows for bill introductions during the period between the last day of the regular session in an odd-numbered year and the first day of the regular session in the next year. House Rule 1.14 says, “a bill filed with the Speaker for introduction must be given a file number and may be unofficially referred by the Speaker to an appropriate standing committee or division.”

No official action can be taken on pre-filed bills until after the 2014 Legislative Session convenes on February 25. Bill introductions are available on the House website at http://www.house.mn/cco/introductions.asp.
