The Subcommittee on Environment of the United States House Energy and Commerce Committee has scheduled a hearing addressing the federal Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act or Superfund program.
The hearing is entitled:
Modernizing the Superfund Cleanup Program
The Subcommittee hearing notice references the United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) establishment of a Superfund Task Force whose objectives include the following recommendations:

Improving the cleanup process

Incentive and expedite remediation
-
Encourage private investment in cleanups
-
Promote reuse of remediated properties
The hearing will evaluate EPA recommendations and assess other potential improvements.
