New USDA Rules Likely to Result in More Poultry Plant Worker Injuries

Poultry plant workers already experience a higher than average number of on-the-job injuries including carpal tunnel, puncture wounds, shoulder injuries and back injuries. Now, proposed USDA regulation changes will decrease the number of federal inspectors and allow plant operators to speed up "kill lines" by 25%. More worker injuries are very likely.
