On, 12 July 2018, the UK government published a White Paper addressing its plan for exiting the EU

The United Kingdom will leave the European Union on 29 March 2019. The White Paper is described as setting out the government's proposed approach to Brexit "and in doing so addresses questions raised by the EU in the intervening months – explaining how the relationship would work, what benefits it would deliver for both sides, and why it would respect the sovereignty of the UK as well as the autonomy of the EU".

The White Paper includes a short section on Intellectual Property and the UPC (Section 1.7.8). These paragraphs confirm that the UK intends to explore staying in the Unitary Patent Court and Unitary Patent system after the it leaves the EU.
