The Connecticut Department of Revenue Services (DRS) has announced the following:

  • The filing and payment deadline for personal income tax returns is extended 90 days, to July 15, 2020.
  • The deadline to make estimated income tax payments for the first and second quarters of 2020 is extended to July 15, 2020.
  • The deadline to file the Connecticut Pass-Through Entity Tax Return and to pay that tax is extended to June 15, 2020.
  • The deadline for filing the Corporation Business Return and to pay that tax is extended to June 15, 2020.
  • The deadline for filing the Unrelated Business Income Tax Return and to pay that tax is extended to June 15, 2020.

DRS also makes it clear that DRS will adjust due dates for filing and payment of state income taxes to align with any specific, actionable announcement from the Internal Revenue Service regarding due dates for the filing and payment of federal income taxes.

Connecticut taxpayers should recognize that these extensions do not require a taxpayer to delay filing. Those who are owed a refund may file when ready.
