On September 3, 2021, Governor Pritzker revised his Order related to mandatory COVID-19 vaccination of health care workers (see Illinois Governor’s Order Mandates COVID-19 Vaccine for Health Care Workers, published August 30, 2021) to extend compliance deadlines.

What are the new vaccination deadlines?

Health care workers must receive the first dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine series or a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine by September 19, 2021 (previously September 5, 2021). The second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine series must be obtained no later than 30 days following administration of the first dose.

Despite many unanswered questions in the initial Order, no new additional changes or clarifications were made other than to extend the compliance dates. Roetzel continues to monitor closely any developments or additional guidance.
