Some cap-subject cases will be transferred to speed up processing.

On May 2, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it has completed data entry of all FY 2017 H-1B cap-subject petitions. USCIS further indicated that all H-1B cap-subject petitions that were not selected will be returned. In order to balance the government workload, USCIS is transferring some Form I-129 H-1B cap-subject petitions from the Vermont Service Center to the California Service Center for processing. A formal announcement will be made once the return of all cap-subject petitions that were not selected has been completed.
