USPTO Announces Expedited Examination Pilot Program for Cancer Prevention Technologies

In support of President Biden’s Cancer Moonshot program, the USPTO announced that it will expedite the examination of patent applications that pertain to technologies to prevent cancer and cancer mortality. The program is set to begin on February 1, 2023 and will end on either January 31, 2025 or the date when the USPTO has accepted 1,000 grantable petitions, whichever comes first.
