The rights of individuals and groups to exercise freedom of religion and freedom of association are bedrock principles of the American existence. However, conflicts sometimes arise between individuals and groups exercising these rights on campus, including occasional tensions between the exercise of religious freedom, orderly campus operations, and anti-discrimination laws for protected classes based on race, gender identity and sexual orientation.
In this complimentary webinar, Nelson Mullins attorneys Kevin Fogle and Suzann Wilcox will discuss:
- Underlying legal frameworks related to religious freedom, sexual orientation, and gender identity on campus;
- Recent events, legislation, current cases and trends in litigation in balancing human rights with campus operations; and
- Win-win solutions to respect human rights, religious freedom and the promotion of equity and inclusivity of protected classes on campus.
