Legal Alert: IRS Releases Further Guidance Regarding the Small-Employer Tax Credit


On Monday, May 17, the Internal Revenue Service issued Notice 2010-44[1], which provides clarification and further guidance for the "small employer tax credit" that was added to the Internal Revenue Code by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). Section 45R of the Internal Revenue Code was added to provide a refundable tax credit to small employers that provide health insurance to their employees.
