Gerry Nowotny is a tax and estate planning attorney. Gerry is a partner is the Florida-based law firm Osborne & Osborne, PA.
Gerry has a JD and LL.M in estate planning from the University of Miami School of Law. He has his undergraduate degree from the United States Military Academy. He served on active duty for five years and left the service as a Captain. He has completed the CLU, ChFC and CFP programs. Gerry is married and has three daughters. He speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
Gerry has developed a national reputation in certain niche tax planning strategies such as private placement insurance products. He is well published in tax and estate planning periodicals. His series of articles on the use of offshore trusts in Rabbi Trust planning for non-qualified deferred compensation was cited in the Joint Committee of Taxation Report on IRC Sec 409A which eliminated the use of offshore Rabbi trusts.
