Gerry Nowotny is a tax and estate planning attorney. Gerry is the managing partner of Law Office of Gerald R. Nowotny.
Gerry has a JD and LL.M in estate planning from the University of Miami School of Law. He has his undergraduate degree from the United States Military Academy. He served on active duty for five years and left the service as a Captain. He has completed the CLU, ChFC and CFP programs. He speaks Spanish and Portuguese at the highest level for a non-native speaker .
Gerry has developed a national reputation in certain niche tax planning strategies such as private placement insurance products. He is well published in tax and estate planning periodicals. His series of articles on the use of offshore trusts in Rabbi Trust planning for non-qualified deferred compensation was cited in the Joint Committee of Taxation Report on IRC Sec 409A which eliminated the use of offshore Rabbi trusts.
Gerry also is the managing member of the Brazilian-American Law Center which is a full service law firm focused on the legal needs of the Brazilian community in the United States. The firm has a series of strategic partners in key areas of law to serve the community. The firm provides family and business immigration-based services along with trade-based legal support for import and export related to the United States and Brazil.
