West Africa Ebola Outbreak -
On September 25th, the United Nations (U.N.) hosted a High-Level Event on the Ebola Virus Disease Outbreak. More than two dozen world leaders participated in the meeting, including Guinean President Alpha Conde in-person, and Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and President of Sierra Leone Ernest Bai Koroma via teleconference. Meeting participants agreed on the need for a greater sense of urgency to response to the outbreak and recognized the contributions of individual Member States, including the U.S., Germany, Japan, and Cuba.
