There have been reports that members and managers of Connecticut limited liability companies have been receiving notices that appear to be from the State of Connecticut requiring them to pay $95 for their annual report.  The form provided looks similar to other state forms, but has “Workplace Compliance Services” at the bottom and may have “2019 – ANNUAL REPORT INSTRUCTION FORM” at the top.  This is not a State of Connecticut form.  The Connecticut Secretary of State and Attorney General have issued a press release with further information available here.

All annual reports for LLCs in Connecticut must be filed online with the Secretary of the State’s website at https://www.concord-sots.ct.gov/CONCORD/ and the annual filing fee is $20 and must be filed online between January 1 and April 1 of each year.  You should be wary of any service that requests payment of more than the filing fee.  If you are unsure if any correspondence you have received is legitimate, please contact your attorney to verify.
