This afternoon, I’ll be speaking to the Connecticut Bar Association’s Annual Meeting on a topic that is familiar to blog readers: The Intersection of Employment Law and Social Media.

There are a few resources that I’ll discuss in the presentation that I would recommend here:

• First, there is a terrific new law review article by Professor Christine Neylon O’Brien that summarizes the “top ten” NLRB cases dealing with social media. It is both current and thorough.  You can download it here.  It’s among the best scholarly pieces I’ve seen thus far on the topic.
• The Workplace Policy Institute has an updated summary of the patchwork of state laws regarding social media passwords and employer access to them.  You can download that report here. 
• Among the cases I’ll discuss is the “Dirty Harry – Make My Day” NLRB case. For more on the case, The Employer Handbook blog has a good summary here.
